I was told by my grandfather that if you are destined to hang you'll never drown. I have never been afraid of water . . .

  1. Poor thing! Animal or human, there is a clear pecking order! Thanks for making us pay attention.

  2. Great shot – love how he has a nut in his mouth – we have pesky woodpeckers here that are more busy pecking at the cedar on our house than eating the bird seed!

  3. I think I tell you this every time….excellent picture! We only seem to get the woodpeckers in the winter. I think there is so many bugs where we live they don’t bother with our sunflower seeds when it’s warm.

    • Thank you Mr Robert I am honored. Since I am mobility challenged, I don’t get around much at all anymore. The Old part of Old Guy is starting to get the best of me. But I do what I can. This last weekend I donated about seven hundred images to the National Park Service for use in youth programs. I also donate to the public library here. So, we adapt with the time and enjoy each day. Thanks for your generous comment. g

  5. Exquisite! I have a soft spot for the North American woodpeckers. You have such a variety of them.
