The Old Guy … Fond Memory …

In December a very large limb fell from a tree out front. At the time, I wasn’t physically able do anything with the obstruction, so I hung an old blue Christmas Tree bulb on a branch and considered it my unique Christmas Tree for 2018.
When I came home from my Christmas visiting, the limb was gone, from the kindness of my neighbor, and the blue Christmas Bulb was hanging from the Shepherds Hook beside the front porch. Over the following months of storms and strong winds, the bulb suffered, and remains to this day in a condition far short of its past glory. But the bulb remains a very fond memory of an Old Guy’s Christmas when a smile was needed and provided.

I was told by my grandfather that if you are destined to hang you'll never drown. I have never been afraid of water . . .

  1. So wonderful a story. I love the sentimentality of the bulb…I’m a keeper of that type of thing too. Lucky for a great neighbor also.
