The Old Guy … Freedom

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is dsc_5455-edit.jpg

After forty years of continued use, I no longer have to wear glasses. And, I can focus my cameras along with being able to do post production work on digital images and write my poetry using my fountain pen-index card method. Freedom. My cataract surgeries were successful beyond my wildest expectations.

The Old Guy … Back To The Unfinished Manuscript …

When working on the forgotten and “unfinished” book manuscript, it can be a challenge when the Laptop is consistently occupied by the help (Kat). Put away in 2006, the manuscript was found during a basement cleanup in 2018. With no efile for working or reference, the pages have to be re-entered into a computer for editing and possibly future publishing. The re-writing and creative writing progress often can be measured by the amount of help I receive.

Yep lazy bones … time to get to work …

Whoa … PRESSING keys with your NOSE is still PRESSING KEYS …

Yeah … that innocent look … I might believe it if I didn’t see that look forty time a day.

After a long day at the keyboard it’s time for a break!

The Old Guy … Well … With Much Consideration … Compromise …

Bargaining And Compromise …

A paw cleaning break early in the morning before negotiations …. I think I sense an air of anticipation …

I feel I am at a disadvantage. It is difficult to bargin and haggle with cute …

After much back and forth between Kat and I, it was decided that I give Kat half the kitchen table with the stipulation that she stays off the sink and counter space, off my keyboard, doesn’t bother my stuff and stays out of my medicine weekly/daily meds box. My half of the kitchen table technically is my writing/blogging table. So far, the compromise has held though she tends to intrude all over my space especially when I am trying to load my insulin syringe. She likes to play with the plunger cover.

The Old Guy … Oh Noooooo … Who Is That?

Oh Noooooo … .

Kat tries to look behind the newly placed obstacle in order to discover who has invaded her territory …

A quick swat didn’t seem to help much … who is that female?

The Old Guy … Play Time … With Wrasslin’

It’s Play Time …

Cats being cats … Sizing each other up.

The wrasslin’ begins … Pumpkin does hold her own most of the time despite the weight disadvantage …

It continues into my chair … It’s getting where I don’t hardly get to sit in my chair anymore … and my store bought sit down donut type cusion has cat hair all over it …

Then there’s naptime …

The Old Guy … Fostering A Kitten Needing A Home …

Then I gave it a name …

This is Pumpkin, a yellow male 4-5 weeks old. Yes, I know about if you name/feed it, it’s yours. He does eat dry food already and small treats. He also uses the liter box after being shown where it is. This fine fellow slept on me last night and plays by himself very well. Like all cats he acts like he doesn’t know or speak English, but he does climb up my chair and onto my lap wanting his tummy rubbed, Few adjustments needed with this one, but he has to go. Kat is not social. I have to referee their time together and give time outs in separate rooms. I can foster him for a while but he needs a home.

I was helped during breakfast with Pumpkin walking and sitting on my laptop keyboard. Thankfully, I wasn’t at an important part of anything. He probably doesn’t know what to think of Kat, but he hasn’t been aggressive at all. I have found fostering a cat is easier than a puppy … but just barely.
